About us

Literature as a compass

Ink Explorers was born from a simple idea: the best way to discover a city is through the books written about it. We read, we locate, we explore.

Our literary maps follow one author at a time through London – starting with Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, Sherlock Holmes and Charles Dickens – and pinpoint the streets, houses, theatres and corners that shaped their stories. Two more authors will join the collection before the end of 2027.

Alongside the maps, The London Walks series offers beautifully made books devoted to a single theme – the Thames, the theatres, London by night, its parks and gardens – each with a themed walk and a fold-out map tucked inside.

Every map also comes with digital extras: an interactive map you can follow on your phone as you walk, and the novels themselves in the original English.

Who we are
